HENRY (HANK) KUCHARSKI Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame Inductee 2005 Peacefully, after a long and full life, Henry went home to the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour at the age of 90. He was predeceased by Evelyn, his wife of 54 years, brothers Joseph, Tony, Louis, Paul and Ed, and sisters Agnes, Anne and Dolly. Left to celebrate his life are daughter Connie (Kissel), son-in-law Jim, grandchildren Blair (Melissa) and Sarah, brother Alex, and favourite niece Maureen (Howard). Henry was proud to serve his country overseas in the Second World War (1942 to 1946). He worked for the Winnipeg Tribune for 32 years until it closed. He was a gifted softball player, bowler, golfer, and gardener. He made the best homemade pickles, chicken soup and Christmas cookies! Hank played for the Northern Hotel Championship softball team (1950 to 1954) which lead to his induction into the Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame in 2005. Those who knew Henry enjoyed his humour, were uplifted by the ever-present twinkle in his eye, and were blessed by his generosity. He brought much joy to all who knew him and memories of him will continue to lift our spirits for the rest of our days. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Avenue Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Henry's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Dad, Pop, Henry; we are proud of you, we love you, we miss you and we will see you when we come home! These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever. 2Cor 4:17-18 (The Message)
