ELISA ROMAGNOLI Peacefully, and surrounded by family and friends, Elisa Romagnoli (nee DiBiase) passed away on August 14, 2008 at St. Boniface Hospital. Elisa is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of almost 50 years Mario, daughter Loriana, son Gino, daughter-in-law Cathy, cherished grandchildren Carina and Bryce, and her brothers and sister, Alberto DiBiase, Giuseppe DiBiase and Gemma Mattu and their families of Adelaide, South Australia. She also leaves to mourn her passing her very dear sister-in-law and brother-in-law Anna and Antonello Aimola of Winnipeg, her nephews Serge Aimola, Roberto (Maria) Aimola and great-nephews Joshua and Jaycen, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Don and Barb Romagnoli of Winnipeg and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Umberto and Angela Romagnoli and their family of Italy. Elisa will also be missed by her many close friends. Elisa was born in Casalbordino, Italy on April 27, 1937. She immigrated to Winnipeg in 1959 and married the love of her life, Mario. Together, Elisa and Mario worked very hard to build a better life for themselves and their family in their new country. Elisa was employed as a seamstress and spent many years as Forelady at Modern Headwear, retiring in 1999. Elisa took great pride in her home and her garden. She enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. She and Mario loved their annual holiday in Hawaii where they would enjoy time with friends and make new ones. Elisa possessed many fine qualities. She was a strong person, both emotionally and physically and was always willing to help others in any way she could. She was a loving mother and always took pride in her children's accomplishments. One of her greatest joys in life was being Nonna to her grandchildren Carina and Bryce, of whom she was very proud. She will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the staff in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their kind and compassionate caring of Elisa in her final days and their kindness towards the family during this difficult time. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue, with Father Sam Argenziano celebrating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, 620 Colborne St., Suite 301, London, ON N6B 3R9.
