GRANT WALLACE MAGNUSSON Peacefully after a lengthy battle with cancer, Grant Magnusson, aged 51 years, of Gimli, passed away at his residence on August 17, 2008. Grant was predeceased by his father Robert and a sister Roberta. He leaves surviving his mother Barbara, brothers Glenn (Janice), Gary (Gayle), Dale (Sandra) and Randy (Delori) and nieces and nephews, Corley, Allison, Dustin, Trevor, Carmen, Kaiden, Kylan and Luke. Grant was a commercial fisherman and between seasons worked as a carpenter and bricklayer. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbours and friends. He enjoyed hunting, golf and hockey. He also enjoyed folk music and blues (taking in as many concerts as possible), and looked forward to his trips to the Edmonton Folk Festival were he would stay with his sister, Roberta. He had great pride in all his nieces and nephews and was always teasing them. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gimli Lutheran Church with Mona Johnson officiating. His honorary pallbearers will be Theo Hykawy, Chris Einarson, Bill Ransen, Bruce Borody, Gunnar Palson and Kevin Palson.
