DELPHIS ROSARIO GIROUARD (GOBIT) Peacefully at the Notre Dame Foyer on Sunday, August 17, 2008, Mr. Delphis Girouard of Somerset, Manitoba passed away at the age of 91 years. He leaves to mourn his passing, three children, Marilyn (Richard) Hoskins of Winnipeg, Lorne (Kathy) Girouard of Embrun, ON and Elaine (Glenn) Gaudet of Somerset; six grandchildren, Lesley (Robert), Cory-Lynn, Monica, Curtis, Justin and Patric; and two great-grandchildren, Aaron and Evan. He also leaves to mourn one sister-in-law Jean Girouard and numerous, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Charmaine (née Beaubien) in 1987. Gobit was a lifelong resident of Somerset and owner/operator of the Lorne Theatre for over 60 years. He enjoyed hockey, curling, cards and coffee at the Somerset Food Bar. He was multi-talented, skilled in carpentry, plumbing and electrical. He was a loving husband, devoted father and a favourite uncle of many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed. Prayers will be held at Adam's Funeral Home on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. with cremation to follow. Funeral Mass to celebrate his life will be held in the Notre Dame de la Nativité Catholic Church in Somerset, MB on Friday, August 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop Albert Thevenot and Father Gabriel Levesque officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Foyer Notre Dame for the compassion Dad received while in their care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Notre Dame Health Foundation.
