MARY CHAPPELL (nee ROBSON) Mary Chappell passed away peacefully at the Poseidon Care Center on August 20, 2008. Mary will be greatly missed by her loving husband Dave of 61 years, her children Barbara and Craig (Val), her grandchildren Patrick, Daniel, Ryan, Kris and Victoria, and her brother Russell. Mary was born in Balcarres, SK in 1915. She came to Winnipeg and graduated from the Winnipeg General School of Nursing in 1940. Mary was an RCAF nursing sister stationed at Rivers, Souris, Edmonton, Deer Lodge Hospital and #8 Repair Depot (Winnipeg). Mary and Dave married in 1946 and spent many happy years in their home in Fort Garry. Mary was an active member of the community playing badminton, golf and her very favourite game, bridge. She loved to cook, garden, entertain and care for her family and many dear friends. Mary loved life and laughter and made new friends in all her many adventures. Our sincerest thanks to the staff at the Poseidon Care Center who helped make each day easier. Memorial service for Mary will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0L3.
