Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND FORBES DILWORTH Peacefully at the Notre Dame Hospital on Friday, August 22, 2008, Mr. Raymond Dilworth of Rathwell, Manitoba passed away at the age of 81 years. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 53 years Elizabeth (nee Pritchard); four children, Dale (Cathy) Dilworth, Brad Dilworth, Elaine Dilworth and Joanne (Mitch) Hawryluk; seven grandchildren, Candace (Jeff Rheault), Jody (Scott Opperman), Brooke Dilworth, Kai Olson, Kena Olson, Breann Hawryluk (Tyson Zelenitsky) and Brett Hawryluk. He also leaves to mourn one sister Anne Provis and numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Forbes and Mary (nee Warren) Dilworth; two brothers, Arthur Dilworth (Eileen) (Marion), Ted Parfitt (Chris), and brother-in-law Dr. Hugh Provis. Dad was born July, 26, 1927 in Treherne, Manitoba and spent his early years in the Boyne Creek District and attended school there. At the age of ten, his family moved to Rathwell where he would make his home for the remainder of his life. The later years of the Second World War marked the end of Dad's school career as he was expected to contribute to the farm since his two older brothers were overseas. This was the beginning of his lifelong passion: farming. After nearly seven fruitful decades of working the soil Dad developed a strong relationship with the land and respected the outcome, whether it be good or bad, of each harvest year. He was happy that his sons, Dale and Brad, joined him on the family farm and took great care in passing his breadth of knowledge to them. From 1978 to 1992, he thoroughly enjoyed assembling farm machinery with his sons for Foothills and Metcalfe's of Rathwell and Treherne, respectively. It was through this venue that he met and welcomed numerous customers and employees into the yard. In 1955, he married Beth Pritchard and together they raised their four children. He was a devoted husband and father, and an extremely doting grandfather. Dad will be remembered as a skilled hockey player, a tireless steward of his impeccable yard, a detailed keeper of records, a humorous story teller, and a man of modesty and integrity. Bye for now Grandpa D/ Grandpa Farm. Funeral services will be held in the Rathwell Memorial Hall on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Haupt officiating. Private family interment to follow at the Woodlands Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rathwell Skating Rink, c/o Garry Wilson, Rathwell, MB R0G 1S0.
