DANIEL WILLIAM MONKMAN July 19, 1922- August 22, 2008 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, father-in-law and friend Daniel William Monkman on August 22, 2008 at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 86 years. Daniel was predeceased by his daughter Edith and son Wayne. Left to cherish Daniel's memory are his four sons, Curtis (Melanie) and their children, Tristen, Kiearra, Dorian, Mackenzie and Elisabeth, William (Andrea) and their children, Laura Angelle and Sarah, Rick and his son Shaun, Tim. Daughter Cindy (Ron) and their children, Samantha, Jessie, Robby and Gary. Granddaughter Cindy Flood and niece Lillian and friends. Daniel was born July 19, 1922 in Lundar, Manitoba and spent most of his life in Manitoba and also served his country in the Second World War. Daniel was a dedicated family man who always put family before himself. Daniel also spent his life devoted to children where his love for them was endless, Daniel had a smile that could light up a room and a sense of humour that could make a crowd laugh. Daniel will forever be remembered and known as the Big Man that had a heart bigger then him and his huge hands that were always there for you when you needed a hug. A celebration of Daniel's life will be held on Wednesday, August 27 at 3:00 p.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue West, with viewing one half hour prior to service. The family would like to thank Dr. Komosky, Dr. Pliat and the staff at the Concordia Hospital, also a special heartfelt thanks to the Neustaedter family for all their help and support through this difficult time.
