MARY HARRINGTON (BROGDEN)
Date of Passing: Aug 24, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY HARRINGTON (BROGDEN) November 1924 - August 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother Mary Harrington on August 24, 2008 at the Grace General Hospital. Mary was predeceased by her husband Doug and her son-in-law Keith. In her quiet way, Mary touched a great many lives. She will be missed by many friends but especially by her daughters Linda and Cate. Mary was born in England, travelling with her family several times to Canada, eventually settling in Montreal. Mary met and married Doug after the Second World War. Our family lived in several places across Canada, settling down in Winnipeg in 1968. Mary worked in office administration for several companies. She took a great deal of pride in her work and was well respected by her colleagues. In Mary's retirement years she volunteered for the Manitoba Society of Seniors and spent countless hours knitting hundreds of hats and mitts for children in need. We would like to thank the staff at the Grace ER and the 5th floor for the care and compassion you gave to our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Winnipeg Public Library or The Humane Society. Memorial service will be held Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
