ROBERT DONALD LEWER
Date of Passing: Aug 22, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT DONALD LEWER It is with great regret that we, the family of Robert Donald Lewer announce that he passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on August 22, 2008 at the Victoria General Hospital. He is survived by his wife Flo, his daughter Roberta, his son Glenn and his wife Sheila and their two sons Grayson and Riel. (The grandsons that Bob was so very proud of.) Bob was a locomotive engineer for 38 years at the C.P.R. and he served on the Manitoba Legislative Board for a number of years. He retired at 60 and spent the next 14 winters in Phoenix, AZ, until his health forced him to forego his annual winter jaunts. He was a life member of the Manitoba Classic and Antique Car Club. He was also a life member of the ADANAC Carving Club. He was an avid carver and his work has been sold world-wide. Bob served on the Board of Directors for the Metropolitan Owners Club of North America and was one of the founding members of the Manitoba Chapter. At Bob's request, there will be no formal service but a gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, August 29 at St. Marks Church Hall, 15 St. Marks Place - off St. Mary's Rd. from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. At this time the family would like to thank the staff of the Victoria General Hospital 2nd floor and the E.R. for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Winnserv Inc. or The Humane Society. PAIN FREE AT LAST!
