DOROTHY HELEN STOVER We wish to announce that our dearest Mom, Dorothy Helen Stover, passed away peacefully at the Kildonan Personal Care Home on Friday, August 22, 2008 the in her 93rd year. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Marshall Stover in 1988, and her son, Mark Edward, in 1961. She leaves to mourn her three daughters, Susan Hunter (Ken Thornton), Kathleen Florentine (Gordon Sango), Debora Stover, (horses and dogs and cats and goats), and a son Howard Marshall Stover Jr. (Lana). Also left to mourn are her grandchildren, Jason Hunter (Tracy), and Caroline Hunter (Anthony Wusowicz) of Winnipeg, Mark Florentine (Wende) of Phoenix, Katie Preston (Paul) of Colorado and three great-grandchildren, Ashley Hunter, and Reaney and Riley Preston. Mom was an avid sportswoman excelling in baseball and tennis in her youth. She went on to enjoy years of playing badminton and curling at the Winnipeg Winter Club. In the early 80s Mom and Dad joined the St. Charles Country Club where Mom enthusiastically took up golf, which provided her with many friendships. Until she became unable to fully participate, she was an active member of the St. Aidan's Church, serving on the Altar Guild, attending Bible Study, and Quilting. Mom had been struggling for the last few years, and began to decline quite rapidly in the last few weeks. We would like to thank ALL of the wonderful and dedicated staff on the 3rd floor for their concern, tender loving care, and assistance. The family is having a private service. A memorial reception will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation may be made in her memory to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St. Suite 200 Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6. Rest Peacefully Mom..............Try not to drive Dad too crazy. Thomson In the ParK 925-1120 Send expressions of sympathy to www.mem.com
