MICHAEL SIDLAR Peacefully, on August 25, 2008 Michael Sidlar passed away at the age of 89. Michael will be dearly missed by his best friend and beloved wife of 60 years, Tena; son Dennis Sidlar, and wife Linda; daughter, Debby Brown and husband Bill, and their two children Megan and Kevin; and many other family members and friends. Born and raised in Rossburn, Manitoba, Michael served in the army during the Second World War, returning to marry Tena, then move to Winnipeg. Michael apprenticed as a tailor and spent most of his working life in the clothing industry. He was a loyal and active member of Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, singing in the choir, volunteering at bingo, and helping with many other activities. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and could always be relied upon to sell Grey Cup pool tickets, and buy a winning ticket for his grandchildren. Michael enjoyed playing his violin, bowling, and visiting with friends at the Sts. Peter and Paul 50 Plus Club. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Boniface General Hospital and Research Foundation, 409 Tache Ave., Rm. D1003, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. Prayers/viewing will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 390 Marion Street on Friday, August 29 at 9:00 a.m., with Divine Liturgy to follow at 10:00 a.m. The family wishes to thank all the family, friends, and health care staff for their support, kindness, and care.
