Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNEST FREDERICK HARMAN Peacefully, and with family by his side, Ernest passed away on August 26, 2008 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 88 years. Ernie was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Alice; his parents, Anne and Harold; his two brothers Norman and Eric; and sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Tom. Ernie is survived by his daughters: Lynn (Ed) and Lori (Rob); and grandchildren Lee-Anne and Ashley. Also left to mourn is his very dear brother Harold; brother-in-law, Bob; sisters-in-law, Betty and Mary; numerous nieces and nephews, many friends and in particular his very good friend Lynn Poitras. After serving in the Second World War, Ernie became an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Elmwood Branch. He served on council and participated in darts, curling and cribbage. He worked for the City of Winnipeg Water Works and upon retiring moved to Lee River. Dad loved to travel and spent many winters in Phoenix. Due to health issues Ernie spent his last year at Deer Lodge Centre where he enjoyed the music, his card games at Chad's Bar and Friday morning cribbage. He was also a very avid sports fan, especially baseball. The family would like to thank the staff of Deer Lodge for their support, the home care workers from Oakland Apartments for the wonderful care they provided for Dad and the Grace Hospital for their kindness and compassion in his final days. Dad loved life, was a very hard worker and always cared about his family first. Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 29, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson Hwy. 338-0331 Send expressions of sympathy at www.mem.com.
