Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY ELIZABETH ATKINSON (nee WHITEBREAD) 1909 - 2008 Quietly at the Grace Hospital in the early morning of Monday, August 25, 2008, Dorothy left us to be with her Lord. Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband George in 1972. Dorothy was the last remaining member of her generation, being predeceased by siblings Percy, Frank, Amelia, Robert and Jack. Left to cherish her memory are her son Barrie (Betty) Atkinson, grandchildren Robert (Patricia) and Elizabeth (Michael) Atkinson, great-grandchildren Andrew and Carolyn Atkinson as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins. Dorothy was born in Winnipeg, September 7, 1909 to proud parents Percy and Annie Whitebread while they lived on Pine Street (currently known as Valour Road). She and her family moved to Charleswood in 1922. Dorothy resided most of her life in the Charleswood area where she was an active member of St. Mary's Anglican Church, participating in the choir, Women's Auxiliary and the Good Companions. She was also a life member of the Charleswood Horticultural Society and a charter member of the Charleswood Historical Society. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Grace General Hospital and the Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts for their care and compassion of Dorothy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to St. Mary's Charleswood Anglican Church, 3830 Roblin Boulevard, Winnipeg, MB, R3R 0E4. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Reverend Gordon Dixon and Reverend Gordon Shields officiating. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
