EDWARD STANLEY SMITH (SMITTY') March 15, 1935 - August 21, 2008 After a long life of love and happiness, our husband, father and grandpa (Papa) left us peacefully with his family by his side. Smitty will be sadly missed by his loving wife Mary; son Joseph (Kelsey); daughters, Mary-Anne (Charlie), Dianna (Jason) and Michelle (Michael); and his grandchildren, Eric, Coleton, Michael, Blake, Madison, Geoffrey, Trevor, Ryan and Riley; as well as his brother Billy; sisters, Victoria (Bob) and Margaret; and numerous nieces and nephews. Smitty was predeceased by his parents Nicolas and Mary; brothers, Frank, Walter and Alex; sisters, Anne and Julie. We would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Spence and the nursing staff at Pinawa Hospital as well as the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for making Smitty's final days as comfortable as possible. We would also like to thank special friends Jennifer and Danielle for their support. A Celebration of Smitty's Life was held on August 27, 2008 at the Sobering Funeral Chapel with Pastor Hilde Vickers officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Smitty's memory may be made to the Whitemouth District Health Centre or a charity of their choosing.
