NICHOLAS TRAFIAK April 10, 1934 - August 27, 2008 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and dear father, Nick Trafiak at the age of 74 at the Health Sciences Centre Emergency. Although sudden and unexpected, he succumbed to a medical condition peacefully with his family by his side. Heartbroken is his wife, friend and caregiver Stella, son Randy and wife Chrissy (Lewis) and daughter Sharon and husband Gerry (Brennenstuhl). He will always be remembered in the hearts of his cherished young grandchildren Meredith, Jack and Max. Nick will be painfully missed by his brother Alex and wife Diane, sister Stella and husband Mike, sister Olga, sisters-in-law Helen, Edna and Millie T, Mary, Milly P and Lena, brothers-in-law George (Barb), Phil and Harry, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Nick was predeceased by his parents John and Maria, five brothers Mike, Bill, John, Peter, Fred, three sisters Anne, Jean, Rose, and daughter-in-law Lori. Born on the family farm in Komarno, MB, he worked in the mines in Sudbury, ON for a few years and then at his uncle and cousin's fishery in NWT. He settled down, marrying Stella and raising his children while working at Manitoba Bridge and then Dominion Bridge for the next 40 years. He worked as a machinist and as a welder and retired as a product inspector. He also served on the Credit Union Committee. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, car trips out west, days at the casino and going to fairs and rodeos. Taking care of his home and sitting in the garage or outside was his refuge. He was a loving father and grandfather and devoted husband of 47 years. Through Thick and Thin Through Good Times and Bad Through Happy Times and Sad We were a Team We held hands Friends to the End. Thank you to Dr. Reynolds and the emergency staff at the Seven Oaks and Health Sciences Centre. We appreciate all the care Nick received at Cancer Care throughout the years. Funeral services will be held at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street, on September 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Pallbearers will be son-in-law Gerry Brennenstuhl, nephews Ron Maryniuk, Doug Trafiak, Ken Trafiak, Greg Shupenia and Brad Bejzyk. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to the charity of one's choice. GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 338-7111
