Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory(WASALENA) LENA WENDY TODORUK July 1, 1925 - June 13, 2008 Lena was born in Arborg, MB, where she lived with her parents, brother and sisters on the family farm until 1943, at age 19, when she left home to live in Winnipeg. Lena was a hard worker and worked at several different factory jobs. In 1952, she left Winnipeg for Toronto where she settled and began working at Continental Can Company until her retirement in 1990, at age 65. Lena purchased her house on Buttonwood Ave. in 1965 and resided there until her passing. She was well liked by all her neighbors. Lena was a generous and kind person, helping her brother and sisters and many of her nieces and nephews get a start in life. Lena spent several years babysitting her great-niece Emily and used to enjoy walking her to and from school everyday. Lena loved wearing hats and enjoyed eating seafood. She had a keen interest in health foods and remedies and spent much of her time in her later years reading and researching these topics. Lena was predeceased by her mother Dora and father Peter, brother Nicholas and sisters Mary and Nellie. Lena is survived by her sisters Pearl Lisowick and Pauline Paterson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great-niece Emily. A graveside family memorial and internment ceremony will be held in Arborg, MB, on Saturday, August 30, 2008. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
