EVA LILLIAN DERBY (nee CROSS) 1916-2008 With deep sadness we announce the passing of Eva Lillian Derby. Eva passed away peacefully on August 28, 2008 at the Victoria Hospital. Eva was born on May 3, 1916 in Portage la Prairie. She then resided in Winnipeg for the rest of her 92 years. She loved her flowers and being out in the garden or at the lake. Eva was predeceased by her husband Jim Derby (1980) and her long time partner Erle Cockle (2008), as well as her sisters and brother, Bertha, Katherine, Margaret, and Frank. Eva is survived by her daughter Marilyn Hill of Richmond Hill Ontario, niece June Brekke, great nephew and niece Randy and Bonnie Brekke as well as many grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-nephews and nieces. We would like to thank the very kind staff at Poseidon Care Centre and the wonderful nursing staff of Victoria Hospital (4th Floor). A family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Brookside Cemetery.
