ELIZABETH (BETTY) LEES On August 28, 2008 at Lions Manor Personal Care Home, Betty Lees passed away at the age of 102 and a half years. Betty was born in Arrow River, MB on February 9, 1906 to John and Dorothy Knowles. Betty trained at Grace Hospital graduating in 1926. After nursing at Grace for a few months she moved to Hodgeville, SK, where she worked with four doctors for two years. She married Jack Lees in 1928. Betty is survived by her daughter Beth Newell; granddaughter Barbara Newell; sisters-in-law Mary Revel, Dorothy (Bob) Wilson, Ruth (Harvey) Sedden, Jean Brown, Ellen (Sam) Leitch, Darlene Lees and Mary Lees; brothers-in-law Tom (Rena) Lees, Roy (Lois) Lees, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband in 1967, her parents; sister Grace Fisher and brother Phil Knowles; father and mother-in-law Laurence and Winnie Lees, sister-in-law Myrtez Lees, brothers-in-law Lawrence Lees, Laurence Lees, Bill Lees, Jack Fisher, Don Brown, John Gabor and Ted Revel. Thanks to the staff of the 4th Floor at Lions Manor for their loving care given to Mom for the last four years. Cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's memory to the Canadian Institute for the Blind. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
