MILDRED MARGARET TYLER (nee REDPATH) Peacefully in the early hours of August 28, 2008 our beloved Mother and Grandmother passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 81. Mom was predeceased by her husband Harold and her parents, Robert and Janet Redpath and her brother Harold. She is survived by her sons, Bill (Lynn) and Jeff (Donna) and grandchildren, Kendra, Derek and Hannah. Mom was born in Winnipeg and graduated from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. She and Dad were married in 1950 and later made their home in St. James where they raised their boys. Family was always first with Mom. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and was always so proud of their accomplishments. She was also a wonderful caregiver to Grandmother Janet in her later years, giving extraordinary care and companionship. Many of their delights were their travels together. Mom was as wonderful a daughter as she was a mother. She had many hobbies and interests. Among her favourites were cooking and gardening. She loved her flower garden and beamed with pride at the many compliments she received each summer. She always worked outside of the house and still managed to maintain an immaculate home and cook wonderful meals every day. She would come home every day on her lunch break to ensure supper was ready for that night. Although she held many jobs over the years, including Hudson Bay House, St. James Volkswagen, St. James School Division and Handsart (Manitoba Legislature), her favourite was working as a teacher's aide with the students at Stevenson Junior High. Mom had many friends, but Girls Club was especially dear to her as they have met regularly for over 60 years, since they were high school friends. Thank you for the friendship Margaret, Pat, Dorthi, Grace, Eileen and Myrtle. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mom's memory to the Salvation Army, telephone 946-9101. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal, 984 Portage Avenue, Aubrey Street entrance, Winnipeg. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
