Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAGNES ISABELLA MCDOUGALL Agnes Isabella McDougall passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2008 with her family by her side, at the Neepawa Hospital. Agnes was born January 25, 1918 in the Mentmore District, the second of five children of Donald and Hannah Robertson. Agnes married Angus McDougall on November 11, 1939. Neepawa became their lifelong home, with them spending summers with family and friends at their cottage at Clear Lake. For 10 years they enjoyed winters in Mesa, Arizona. Agnes was an avid curler, competing in many bonspiels and provincial playoffs, winning the Senior Women's title in 1972. She was extremely active in both her local club and the provincial MLCA, of which she became the first rural president. At the age of 82 she threw the opening rock of the 2000 Scotties playoffs in Neepawa. She was given life memberships in the Neepawa Curling Club and the MLCA. Agnes was a charter member of the Neepawa Inner Wheel, receiving her 50th year pin. She was honored with the Paul Harris Award. She was a dedicated member of Knox Presbyterian Church. Agnes was also a Past Matron of the Eastern Star. Agnes was an ardent bridge player, enjoying the clubs in both Neepawa and Clear Lake. Being a perfectionist, everything she tackled she did well. She was very proud of her yard and flowers, which gave her a great source of enjoyment. She enjoyed entertaining and was a very gracious hostess. She highly valued her independence, which she maintained to the end. She was predeceased by her father and mother; husband Angus; brother Donald and sisters, Mary and Kay. Left to cherish her memory are son Donald (Judy); daughter Cathy Yurick (Ken); grandchildren, Jennifer, Lindsay, Scott (Kaitlyn); sister Marjorie; step grandson Tim Holmes and step great-granddaughter Madeline, and numerous nephews and nieces. Flowers graciously declined; donations may be made to charity of your choice. A celebration of her life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Neepawa, Wednesday, September 3 at 2:00 p.m.
