Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL LABOSSIERE August 25 , 1926 August 29 , 2008 It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing, at the age of 82, of Paul Labossiere, beloved husband, father, and grandfather at St. Boniface Hospital , while surrounded by his loving family. Paul was predeceased by his father, Eustache; his mother, Marie-Louise, and his brother, Guy. Left to mourn Paul's passing and cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Stella ( nee Bouchard); his son Ron (Cindy, Jenna, Matthew); his daughter, Elaine McKenna (Chuck, Ryan, Kaitlin), and his son, Dan (Ginny, Lexie, Keith, Giles) and also his brothers and sisters, Jeanne (late Allan) Refvik, Gerry (Gail), Lil (Roy) Cote, Denis (Monique) his cousins and many nieces and nephews. Paul, the eldest of six children, was born and raised in Ste. Rose du Lac MB. As a young man, he excelled at sports baseball and hockey being his particular favorites, and he was recruited by, and played for, some of the best teams, at that time, in the province of Manitoba . He also greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling. Paul and Stella the love of his life - were married on August 11, 1951, and lived in Winnipeg for the next 57 years. He was a remarkable and devoted family man whose wit and gift for storytelling delighted all those who knew him and his generosity was exceeded only by the quiet and modest manner with which he practiced it. Paul was an excellent and astute businessman and owned many successful businesses during his lifetime, including: DeGagne Motors, Remco Tire, and a Gondola Pizza franchise. Paul especially enjoyed spending time with his good friends and family at the cottage at Gull Lake, MB. Caring and thoughtful , wise and fun-loving, Paul was the very model of a decent, hard working man and none who knew him ever had less than the greatest praise for how he conducted himself with dignity at all times throughout his life. Paul's family would like to extend their gratitude to the excellent and attentive staff on the Palliative Care Unit . True professionals, in every sense of the word, they provided unfailing care and comfort to Paul and his family during the last days he spent with us. A funeral mass for Paul will be held at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road, Winnipeg, at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2008. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 (Ph. 949-2000).
