DIANE BUTLER-ANDERSON (BUFFALO WOMAN) MUZHKOTAY PIZHIKI IKWE 1957 - 2008 Peacefully with family by her side, Diane began her journey into the spirit world on September 1, 2008. Diane will remain in the hearts of her children, Joey, John and Jennifer (Jim); grandchildren, Kennedy, Samantha, Sidney, Jaime, Jared, Jenean and Jordan; mother Jean Anderson; siblings, Theresa (Bob), Delores, Joseph, Jacqueline, Edwin, Nathaniel, Daniel (Joanne) and Janet (Stan), along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Anderson, John Butler, father-in-law Jack Butler and sister Caroline. Diane was a very strong, loving and wise mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a counselor at Native Women's Transition Centre. She had a serene spirit and was very gifted in making traditional dream catchers and jewelry. Diane was dedicated to helping not only her family and friends but to all. She especially took great pride in caring for her grand-daughter Sidney. The family wishes to thank Dr. Chandler, nurse Sharon, homecare assistant Marlene and staff at Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital. Thank you as well to the Transition Centre for their care and support. Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 6 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. Viewing one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Diane's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
