Date of Passing: Aug 28, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH (JOE) PEILUCK 1918 - 2008 Joe passed away peacefully at the Trillium Health Centre in Toronto, Ontario on August 28, 2008. He was predeceased by his father Michael, mother Mary, brother Robert (Bobby) and sisters, Helen, Jeanne and Hilda. He is survived by his wife Doreen, brother Victor of Calgary and sisters, Minnie of Winnipeg and Lil of Steinbach. At the age of one, Joe contracted polio which left him with his characteristic limp but this handicap did not stand in the way of his love of sports. He participated in basketball, baseball and bowling. He was affectionately known as Hopper by his many friends, and the name stuck with him to the end. In his early 20's, Joe moved to Toronto to seek his fortune. He might not have accomplished his goal but he did meet the love of his life, Doreen. Joe and Doreen were not blessed with children but he did have many nieces and nephews from his immediate family, as well as his adoptive family of George and Nina Campbell of Toronto. Joe and Doreen were very dedicated to their family and made yearly visits to Winnipeg, and as die-hard travellers, made many visits to Europe and always enjoyed cruises. It was Joe's wish to be cremated. There will be no service at this time but a memorial service will be held in October in Toronto. Joe was loved by everyone and will be sadly missed.
