ZENA WOLFSON Zena Wolfson passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2008. She is survived by Walter, her beloved husband of 65 years; her daughter, Carole Osler (Cameron); her granddaughter, Elissa Vann Struth (Jamie); and her great-grandchildren, Lukas, Calista and Marek. Also surviving her are four of her sisters (in Liverpool and Florida); her sisters-in-law in Ottawa and Toronto; and Cam's children, John and Kathleen, and their families. Zena met Walter during the war at her family's home in England, and they married in Liverpool on July 18, 1943; she joined him in Canada in 1944. Zena enjoyed her membership in the War Brides Associations in Manitoba and Sask. She worked in retail and at the Mall Medical Clinic, and volunteered for many years at Seven Oaks Hospital and the Winnipeg Art Gallery. She was known for her skills in knitting, sewing and baking and a number of charities benefited from the sweaters, hats and mitts that were crafted by her talented hands. Zena loved her family deeply, and all of us greatly loved and appreciated her in return. She will be terribly missed.
