MARY BILENKY 1917 - 2008 Peacefully on September 3, 2008, Mary Bilenky (nee Rawluk) passed away at the age of 90 at Seven Oaks General Hospital. She was predeceased by Michael, her beloved husband of 67 years, and her son Thomas. She was the loving and ever caring mother of Adeline (Derek) and Gerald (Jane). She will be greatly missed by her five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren who are left to cherish many fond memories of her. She is survived by her adored brother Sam (Joanne) and was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters. Mary was born in St. Martin, MB, daughter of Catherine and Thomas Rawluk. She arrived in Winnipeg at the age of sixteen and married Michael in 1939. Her warmth and caring touched everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of good works in her community and hard work at home. Her hands were never idle as she quilted, sewed, baked - both for her family and for the many organizations she belonged to. She also loved to pick up a hammer to build and lend a helping hand. When not involved in her many projects she enjoyed her garden and the cottage at Grand Beach. Prayers were held on Friday, September 5, 2008. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, September 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Avenue with Rev. Fr. Volodymyr Bashutskyy as Celebrant. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. We will always remember her love and generosity. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
