DENNIS REGINALD HILL It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather at Victoria General Hospital on Thursday, September 4, 2008. Dennis was born in Winnipeg on November 16, 1927, the eighth of nine children. He grew up in Weston and attended Cecil Rhodes School. Dennis began his employment at the CPR Weston Shops, and worked for many years at Remington Rand, A. Lloyd Clark and Superior Business Machines, retiring in 1988. Dennis married the love of his life, Alice Heinrichs, on March 11, 1950. He was a devoted family man and a proficient woodworker. His quiet, gentle demeanor hid a quick wit and dry sense of humour. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Rowland and Celia, brothers Alfred, Edward and Derek and sisters, Grace, Ivy and Vera. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife Alice, daughters Pamela (Frank Bann) and Susan (Dean Care) and son Glenn (Bette); grandchildren, Cristi (Devon Danielson), Robyn (Scott Stewart), Jamie Care (Meghan) and Carley-Ann Care; great-grandchildren, Soren and Michaela Danielson; brother Bernard (Dora) and sister Joan Harris; sisters-in-law, Marlene Colpitts (Bill), Bernice Heinrichs and Joan Clunk (Howard). The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Meadowood Manor and more recently River Park Gardens for their care and compassion over the last years of Dennis' life. Thank you also to the staff of Victoria General Hospital for their support during his final days. A celebration of Dennis' life will be held at the Chapel of Neil Bardal Inc., Aubrey Street at Portage Avenue, on Monday, September 8 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Gordon Shields officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220
