Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES KOSTESKY In the early morning hours of August 25, 2008, at the Russell Health Centre, Frances Kostesky slipped away peacefully to her eternal rest. Frances Kostesky, born July 8, 1927, the youngest child of Steve and Annie Shust in the R.M. of Rossburn. She attended Valley, Islay, and Rossburn Schools, and on June 2, 1946, married Michael F. Kostesky. Together they farmed on his parents' farm before moving in 1956 to their farm north and west of Rossburn, where they continued to farm and raise their family until retiring to the Village of Rossburn. Her life centered around the love of her family, always being interested in their activities. She enjoyed sewing quilts for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the serenity of nature, fishing (rowed her boat by herself), country drives, the time she spent at her trailer at Rossman Lake, and get-aways in her camper van. Frances was a long time member of the St. Theresa Roman Catholic Parish in Rossburn where she played the church organ faithfully for 28 years. She was always very active in her community, enjoying the friendships she developed while serving with the Rossburn Agricultural Society, the Rossburn Legion, the Home Choir, and later in life, the Rossburn Drop-In Centre. She will be remembered by many for the enjoyment she brought to family, friends, and Personal Care Home Residents, playing her accordion with the group Franny and Friends which she formed. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, and to mourn her passing, her family: Gloria (Gary) Rubeniuk of Russell, Myrna (Nestor) Pushka of Rossburn, Lucas (Myrna) Kostesky of Winnipeg, Vince (Diane) Kostesky of Calgary, Leonard (Shelley) Kostesky of Rossburn, Deanie (Rick) Boryskavich of Russell, Bonnie Fouillard of Pincher Creek, Alberta, and Irwin (Denise) of Hamiota; sixteen grandchildren, three step-children and their families, and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her passing her sister, Susan Charney, and her sister-in-law Anne Shust both of Rossburn, many family members from her husband's family, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband M.F. Kostesky in 1989, an infant daughter in 1962, her parents (1964 and 1996), and her brother Ed Shust (1993). Interment has taken place at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Cemetery in Rossburn, MB.
