TONY NATYNA Peacefully on September 3, 2008 at his home in Winnipeg, Tony passed away at the age of 76 years. Tony was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Natyna; siblings, Peter, Paul and Mike; brothers-in-law Martin Skiba and Vernon Camp; sister-in-law Gail Natyna (Tataryn) and son-in-law Lorne Markusson. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 53 years, Pearl; his daughters Gail and Debbie (Dennis); his grandchildren, Kristjan, Johann, Justin, Lindsey, Joshua, Cody, Natasha and Dennis Jr.; and great-grandchild Walker. Tony is survived by his siblings, Eva Skiba, Cathy Camp, Donald, Susan and many nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts. Born in Kreuzburg, MB (Fraserwood) on May 21, 1932, he left home at an early age and helped support the family. He then met Pearl Horwat of Arborg and they married on June 4, 1955. Soon after in 1959 he hired on with CNR. They resided in Fraserwood where he also farmed for 20 years. After selling the farm he ventured into the hotel business (Elie Hotel, Elie, MB; Pinewood Hotel, Pine Falls, MB; and Rockton Hotel, Atikokan, ON). This kept him busy in his spare time from CN for 12 years where he enjoyed meeting people. In 1997 Tony retired from CN after 38 years but he still had lots of energy and went into the towing business (Amigo Towing). He continued to work until his stroke in 2006. Through all his adventures Tony's heart was still in the country on a farm. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 8 at 1:00 p.m. with viewing one hour prior, in the Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Fraserwood, MB with Fr. Harry Chuckry officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to CNIB, 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 9Z9. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
