HELGA SCOTT (nee HELGASON) Helga Scott died peacefully September 2, 2008. She was born in Winnipeg March 28, 1912. She was predeceased by her parents Vilborg and Jonas Helgason, husband Ralph, sisters Daisy and Violet, daughter Joan and granddaughter Kristine. Also predeceasing Helga were brothers-in-law George Scott, John Scott and Peter Stewart, sisters-in-law Grace Stewart, Rae Scott and Caye Scott. Left to mourn her passing is daughter Elizabeth Solylo (George), three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two cousins, two nieces, one nephew, many grand and great grand-nieces and nephews and many dear friends. The family wishes to thank especially cousin Bill and Lorraine Helgason and friends, Betty and Shirley for their kind and loving support in Helga's last years. The family appreciates the quality care provided by Calvary Place Care Home. Helga attended Balmoral Academy for High School. She graduated from Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing in 1933 and worked as head nurse at Women's Pavilion until 1967 while raising her family. After retirement Helga enjoyed an active life of lawn bowling, curling, sewing, playing bridge and grand parenting with beloved husband Ralph. A full life well lived. Her family and friends will sorely miss her and cherish her memory forever. By Helga's request there will be no service and a private interment will take place.
