Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNELLIE EASTCHAK (nee ZINNICK) April 17, 1924 - September 4, 2008 It is with heavy hearts, the family announces the peaceful passing of Nellie Eastchak, beloved wife, mother and granny. She leaves to mourn her husband of 62 years Sidney, daughters Cindy (Mickey) Davies, Debbie (Zenon) Bodnar, and granddaughters Melyssa and Lisa Davies. Nellie is survived by brothers John (Frances), Steve (Erna) and Bernie (Irene) and many caring nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents William and Mary, brothers Walter (Frances), Alex (Jenny) and Frank (Ann). Nellie lived all her life in the Melrose area. She cared deeply for her family, community and church. She adored her grandchildren and helped shape them into the young women that they are today. Her many talents included gardening, cooking, sewing and knitting. Special thanks to Dr. Margaret Speer (Selkirk) and Dr. Hugh Taylor, along with the team of health care professionals on 7AW at St. Boniface Hospital for their exceptional, compassionate care. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Nellie's life will be held on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Cooks Creek, Manitoba, with Father Charles Fillion officiating. No one ever left Nellie's home hungry or empty handed. In lieu of flowers, if family or friends desire, please make a donation to your local food bank.
