SHIRLEY JEAN PAYNE (LOCKHART) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Jean Payne on September 4, 2008 at the age of 73 after a brief battle with cancer at Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital. Shirley will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Cecil, sons Charles (Kathy), Allan and grandson Tyler. She will also be remembered by her sisters Dorothy, Kathleen (Roy), Myrtle; brothers Maurice (Sophia), Raymond (Loreen), Stuart; sisters-in-law Myrna and Irene, Eleanor (Jim), Dorothy and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents David Lockhart and Lillian McKay; brothers Gordon, Stan; sister Edna and brothers-in-law Eddie, Albert, Bill, Henry and sister-in-law Olive. Shirley was an active member in her community and enjoyed babysitting many children throughout the years. She was known to her family and friends for her hospitality and great meals. One of her favorite past times was playing cards with her husband and grandson and she always loved to win. We would like to thank Dr. Graham, the nurses and staff at Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital for the care they gave to Shirley and the support to her family during this difficult time. We would like to thank a special friend and neighbor Marcella McKnight for all her help and support during mom's illness. Honorary pallbearers are all her family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her honor to Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital Foundation. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall.
