AURELIO SIMAS SOUSA It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Aurelio Simas Sousa on September 4, 2008 at the age of 80 years. Predeceased by his wife Maria in 2007, Aurelio leaves to cherish in his memory his children, Aurelio Jr., Ivo (Aida), Oldemira, Frank (Rosa) and Leda (Arthur); and grand-children, Chris, Frank, Lisa, Mark, Daniel and Matthew. Aurelio will also be sadly missed by his niece Teresa Dias. Aurelio was born in Terceira, Portugal on May 3, 1928. In 1951, Aurelio married the love of his life Maria and together in 1971 they immigrated to Winnipeg with their children. During his time in Canada, Aurelio worked in both the construction industry and CNR until his retirement. The family would like to thank both the MICU and the 4th floor GA staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their care and support. Prayers will be held on Sunday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed John XXIII, 3390 Portage Avenue with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H. officiating.
