EDITH FRANCES HIRSCH November 19, 1924 - September 4, 2008 With her family at her side and a hug and a kiss good bye this loving angel returned home to the Lord. She has left this world, but never our hearts. Edith was predeceased by Roy, her beloved husband of 52 years, and her daughter Sandra (at five years old). She was the loving and ever caring mother of Glenn, Wayne (Kerri), Garry (Debbie) and Debbie Ann (Rick Pescitelli). She will be greatly missed by her children, 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who are left to cherish many fond memories of her. She is survived by her sisters, Lily, Frances and Sissy (England) and was predeceased her brothers, Ernie and George. Edith was born in Gosport, England, daughter of George and Frances Sparks. Married in England July 14, 1945, a war bride, she made Canada her home for the next 63 years. Edith enjoyed her career in the hospitality industry. She was an avid cook and baker and everyone had something she had knitted especially for them. She was always there for us, an incredible mother who especially loved and cherished all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Although her sisters were thousands of miles away they were always close to her heart. Her warmth and caring nature touched everyone she met, she was truly an Angel on this earth. She taught us, love, kindness and compassion for all of God's creatures, she instilled the strength and closeness of our family. Edith and her family are exceedingly grateful to all the caring staff and especially Dana Orr of the Riverview Health Center, all of whom were instrumental in making her last days comfortable and peaceful.
