Date of Passing: Sep 04, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYVETTE MCMULLAN With deep sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mom and grandmother, Yvette McMullan at the age of 84 years on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at Foyer Valade Nursing Home. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband, Hugh in 1996. Mom is survived by her five children, Ann (Laurent) Lacroix; Brian (Rheanne); Kevin (Kathy); Alice (Brian) Thomson and Kenny (Jocelyne). She also leaves to mourn her 14 grandchildren, Sean (Shyla) and Kevin Lacroix; Ian and Shane McMullan; Melanie (Cassidy), Lauren, Scott, Todd and Teresa McMullan; Colin, Jeff and Vanessa Thomson; and Patrick and Janelle McMullan. As well she is survived by her brothers Leon and Dennis Kenny of Winnipeg as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was born and raised in St. Germaine, Manitoba. She married the true love of her life, Hugh, in 1951. In 1953 mom developed polio but never once let it slow her down. She raised the five of us with dad in St. Norbert and taught us the true meaning of faith and belief in God. If she wasn't making us fresh bread and homemade butter for an after school snack, she was busy making rosaries for the people of the world. Prayers and viewing will be held at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Highway, on Monday, September 8 at 10:30 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. A reception will be held afterwards, following burial, at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue. Pallbearers will be Kevin Lacroix, Ian McMullan, Scott McMullan, Todd McMullan, Colin Thomson and Patrick McMullan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Foyer Valade Nursing Home, 1st Floor. The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the staff at Foyer Valade for the exceptional care given to mom. Thanks mom for showing us such a wonderful life and teaching us how to always have a great outlook on life. Chapel Lawn 885 - 9715
