GINA MARIE WOLSEY March 13, 1964 - September 4, 2008 On the afternoon of September 5, Gina passed away after a courageous, 5 year battle with breast cancer. Her husband Rob, and mother, Terry were by her side. Gina will forever be remembered and cherished by her husband, Rob; daughters, Brittany and Shaylee; son Troy; mother Terry Comfort; sister Teresa, family Chris, Jasmine, Luke, Nicholas, Joan, Scott, Suzy, Cailin, Jenna, Jon, Carlie, Hailey, Grace, close friends Karen, Nadine, Tracey, Sam and Michelle, their families, and many more. Gina grew up in St. Norbert. She was athletic and played sports such as ringette and basketball. She attended Park Lasalle Elementary, St. Norbert Collegiate and took some courses at the University of Manitoba. Gina started working at a young age. She started off cleaning hotel rooms and as a teenager, got a job at Champs, KFC. She was promoted to Shift Supervisor in 1981. One day during the summer of 1981, she got home and told her Mom about a new cook that she thought was really stuck up. The cook thought the same of her. That cook turned out to be her soul mate. On September 16, 1981, Rob and Gina starting dating. They dated through high school and in Rob's high school year book, it states that he was married through his graduating year. That turned out to be the case 8 years after they started dating. On September 16, 1989, Rob and Gina were married at St. Edwards Parish. Gina was absolutely stunning. Gina and Rob were blessed with three beautiful children. They are Gina and Rob's proudest accomplishments. The family has always been extremely close and enjoy being together. Gina loved talking with her kids, watching them play sports, family vacations, and generally being a Mom. She was always brimming with pride over their accomplishments and was very upset that she could not witness some of their accomplishments as she battled cancer. She is extremely proud of the people they are today and the adults she knows they will be. Gina was also a fantastic wife. She ran the house and family while Rob worked out of the house, travelled, and went to school. She was always extremely supportive. She was also Rob's best friend and he will miss her very very much. Gina was extremely close to her Mom and her Mom is grateful that she was with Gina when she passed. Rob, Gina and family are extremely grateful to the medical staff that took care of Gina for the last five years. Dr. Maxwell, Bonnie, Anne, Eleanor, both Jackies, Penny, Jan, Delene, and Claudette are all like family and we are very grateful for everything you did for Gina and Rob. Thanks also to Doctors Cooke, Schroeder, and West, as well as Erin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gina's name to CancerCare Manitoba or the Victoria General Hospital Foundation. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 in the Mosaic Funeral Chapel 1839 Inkster Blvd. at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 in the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church 510 River Ave. at 10:00 a.m. For online condolences or to light a memorial candle please log on to www.mosaicfunerals.ca Mosaic Funeral, Cremation and Cemetery Services 1839 Inkster Blvd. 275-5555
