Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARNOLD MASON Dad passed away peacefully on September 4, 2008 with his family by his side. He was born March 18, 1933 in Fisher River Cree Nation. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his children; Wayne (Della), Gerry (Beverly), Nadine (Max) and special daughter-in-law Luciel (Kent) Oatway; sisters Myrtle, Marge, Betty, Stella (Bill), Marilyn and special sister-in-law Jean, along with 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. Dad had enjoyed many years with his special friend Dorothy. Dad was predeceased by his parents; Percy and Flora Mason, siblings; brother Earl, sister Shirley, baby Edna and one in infancy, one son (Keith) who died in infancy and a great-grandchild Russell in infancy. Dad loved to watch all types of sports; he especially enjoyed spending time and watching hockey with his Great-grandson Gavin. All his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews would always be greeted with his love taps. He adored having time to visit with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was lovingly named brother beetle by his sisters. Dad was a fisherman most of his life, where he fished on Lake Winnipeg and Great Slave Lake. The time spent fishing was the best years of his life where he met and made many long lasting friendships. He was a survivor of the residential school era, joined the Canadian Air Force; where he received an honorable discharge when he was diagnosed with tuberculosis and spent time in the Ninette Sanitarium, after which time he married the mother of his children, Mary who predeceased him in 1994. A sacred fire has been lit on Friday morning at the home of son, Gerry Mason, which will burn for four days. Wake service to be held at the Stevens Memorial United Church on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service on Tuesday, at 2:00 p.m. September 9, 2008 and interment at Fisher River Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Percy E. Moore Hospital, Health Science Centre, Victoria Hospital and specialist Dr. Minuk. We would also like to thank the many friends and relatives that visited Dad while in the hospital and spent time with him listening to his special stories. Arrangements Entrusted To:
