RITA ELAINE NAULT (formerly TRUPISH, nee COOK) Peacefully, with her family by her side, Rita passed away on September 5, 2008 after a courageous battle with inflammatory breast cancer. Rita was only 55 years old. Rita will be lovingly remembered by her husband and childhood sweetheart Jack Nault; two daughters Roberta (Henry) Everson and Nicole (Tyson) Koschik and her two granddaughters Thora and Kate; her parents Raymond and Ruth Cook; her sisters, Sharmaine Miller, Jo-Anne Miller, Edna Blunt and Alice Williams and brothers Stephen Clayton and Warren Cook, many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and lifelong friends. Born and raised in Brooklyns, Rita was the third eldest of eight children. Rita has always had a free, adventurous spirit. Known by her family and closest friends as a warm-hearted, fun-filled woman who loved to take her girls on camping adventures, play practical jokes and laugh. Above all, Rita cherished family. Although too brief, she had a special relationship with her granddaughters. Rita was well-respected in her chosen field, early childhood education. Lasting over 30 years, Rita started her career as a family home daycare provider and ended it as a Family first home visitor with the WRHA. Throughout her career, Rita was dedicated to building positive, healthy family relationships. Thank you to CancerCare, Irene Shapiro and all of mum's family and friends for your love and support. Special thanks to Aunty Jo-Anne, Tammy Leigh, Anita and Amary's Flowers whose extra care and kindness helped to brighten some of mum's darkest moments. Funeral service to be held Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home. Viewing will be held at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation are appreciated. 35 years ago years ago you watched me in your home around the St. Johns area. My mother would drop me off during the early mornings and you would care for me like I was one of your own during the day. You would dance and goof around making us kids laugh, teach us not to eat with our mouths open, teach us proper manors and how to behave, protected us kids when we were held up at a bank on main. I remember a camping trip you took me on, I have fun memories from that trip and so many more because of you - you cared for us as our own mother would; you and your family were always so kind to me and my sister. For so long I had wondered how you were doing and thought of you over the years but to find out that you had passed. I will always remember you for all that you have done for me and had taught me. My condolences to the family. Lana - Posted by: Lana Bouteiller (Friend) on: Feb 01, 2019

TO MY DEAREST COUSIN RITA. YOU WERE GONE BEFORE I GOT TO SAY GOOD-BYE. A PART OF MY HEART LEFT WITH YOU THAT DAY, IT WILL BE WITH YOU FOREVER. WE HAD SO MANY WONDERFUL MEMORIES GROWING UP TOGETHER. WE LAUGHED AND WE CRIED TOGETHER AT TIMES BUT OUR MOST ADVENTUROUS TIMES THROUGH LIFE MADE US WHO WE ARE TODAY. I LOVE YOU RITA, I THINK OF YOU SO MUCH. I WISH WE HAD KEPT IN TOUCH INSTEAD OF DRIFTING APART. LORRAINE - Posted by: LORRAINE FARDOE (COUSIN) on: Oct 17, 2012
