ROBERT WILLIAM CHARLES AIME August 27, 1953 - September 5, 2008 After a long battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Son, Brother, Father and Papa. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Debbie; daughter Jessie (Kristofer); sons Gerald (Rachelle) and Robert (Crystal); grandchildren Ethan, Robert, Nikolas, Israel, Makayla and Liberty; mother Edith (Arnold); sister Irene (Don) and niece Amy (Dan), Step sister Friede (Stan); Brigitte (Gerald); Sonya (Brad); Step brothers Erwin (Joanne); Werner; Jurgen, Mother and father-in-law Billy and Carol Bell; brother-in-law Craig (Nadine) Bell; sister-in-law Roxann (Art) Goudy, nieces and nephews, as well as many family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Robert Aime; grandparents William and Janet Aime and Charles and Jessie Curiston and many aunts and uncles. Charles was a life-long resident of Clandeboye. He enjoyed skating, playing hockey, water-skiing, community parties by the creek and horses in his younger years. He grew up on the farm milking cows, raising beef cattle and operating machinery in the field. Charles loved to farm. He enjoyed showing his Jersey cattle both as a 4-H member and on the Manitoba fair circuit. In 1980, due to his fathers health, he purchased and continued to work the family farm: Elm Glen Farms. He raised hogs, beef and dairy cattle. In 2000, he sold the cattle due to his illness and continued with grain farming. His six grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved taking the kids on the farm equipment. He was known to the kids as 'Papa Charlie'. He was a very proud Papa. His favorite time of the year was harvest. He worked hard to get seeding and spraying done because he knew the sooner it was completed, the sooner harvest would come. Saturday nights in the field would be spent listening to the polka party. He loved getting up in the morning just to go to the Lily Pad restaurant for coffee with his friends and fellow farmers. He enjoyed meeting new people and talking about his machinery; teasing them that they don't have a machine unless it's a red Case IH. When Papa came home from any dealerships, he always had a toy for the kids or a hat for the boys. He enjoyed going to many companies and adding hats to his collection. He also had a passion for collecting antique farm equipment, and attending auction sales. Whenever he had to think about something or talk on the phone he always did that in his executive chair. A prayer service will be held at Voyage Funeral Home, 18 Main Street in Selkirk, MB on Thursday, September 11 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. George's Wakefield Church on # 9 Hwy in Clandeboye, MB on Friday, September 12 at 2:00 p.m. Please bring your lawn chair. Pallbearers will be Alan and Kevin Aime, Ken and Bruce Dalman, Bob Pawluk and Conrad Starkell. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Fuchs, Max Graham, Francis Kehler, Harold Myslawchuk, Ron Petaski, Peter Pruden and Dave Thurston. We would like to thank Cancer Care for all they have done for Charlie; also Dr. Antinenko and the Selkirk General Hospital surgery ward for all of their care. We will miss you Charlie - Husband, Son, Brother, Dad, Papa and friend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care of Manitoba.
