PETER CHARTRAND It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden death of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend Peter Harold Chartrand. My loving husband left us on September 8, 2008 with me by his side. Left to mourn him are his loving wife of 24 years, Darlene; his children, Mike, Jeff (Bonnie) and their children, Rae-Lee and Jaren; Stacey, Rachel (Dwayne) and their children, Ryan and Téya; his stepchildren, Kelvin, James and daughter Serena, Pamela (Chris) and their children, Nate and Raena; his brother and sisters, Joey, Patty and Pearl (John); his brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond (Brenda), Debbie (Bruce), Dean (Paulette), Dexter (Wendy), Wanda (Doug), Kathy (Darrell), Karen (Lonnie) and Jonas (Tanya); his niece Peanut; numerous nephews and nieces; special friend Hazel; and his beloved dog Ruff. My husband was predeceased by his mother, grandmother and grandfather, my parents (his in-laws) Arthur and Phyllis Roche, his brother-in-law Alvin and nephew Ian. My husband was born May 3, 1942. He was brought up by his grandparents until the age of 10 when he went to live with his mother. He started his career as a plumber in High Level, Alberta, then worked at Indian Affairs for many years. He later started his own company First Nations Management Services where he retired in 2006. He was a very hard worker. My loving husband loved being around family. He always had a laugh for everyone. He loved going on our family walks with me and our beloved dog Ruff. He was happiest being around nature. He loved the outdoors and at every opportunity was on his lawn mower tractor. He was a very proud husband, father and grandfather. He loved family gatherings and we are sure going to miss his barbequed steaks. I and my family are so sad that he left us so suddenly, he meant the world to me, his children and grandchildren. A special thanks to all the doctors and staff at St. Boniface Hospital, Victoria Hospital, Health Sciences Centre and Arborg Hospital and to our family and friends. I am having a private memorial for him at a later date. I am going to miss you so much babe. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.

I worked with Pete for a number of years at Indian Affairs. We became good friends and I always enjoyed his company. Of all the people at DIAND that I worked with, I miss him the most. Great sense of humour and honesty, never afraid to say what he thought, refreshing! So sorry for your loss Dar. - Posted by: Ron DeGagne (friend) on: Oct 26, 2017
