Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN EDMUND MACPHERSON Passed away very suddenly on Monday, September 8, 2008 in Winnipeg, Manitoba at age 65. Born February 10, 1943 in Oshawa, Ontario to Murray and Ella MacPherson. John grew up in Oshawa then attended Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario where he graduated with Bachelor of Science and Civil Engineering. In 1968 he worked as the Civil Engineer for the town of Arnprior, Ontario where he met and married the love of his life, Beverley Ann Ingram in 1969. He worked as a civil engineer for CP Rail and for Del Can Limited where he was the head engineer of a portion of the Light Rail Transit project for the city of Calgary. After this he returned to work for CP Rail until his retirement this spring. John was thorough and skilled at everything he set his hand to, whether it was work, personal study or his hobbies and interests. As important as excellence was to John, the things that were truly important to him was his faith and his family. John left a great legacy of faith and character for his five children, Todd (and wife Gwenda), Grant, Matthew, Benjamin (and wife Crystal) and Faith. 'Papa' will be deeply missed by his seven grandchildren, Kassidy, Melissa, Evan, Jonathan, Elias, Mikyla, and Arwynn. He will be missed by his brother Jim MacPherson and sister Linda Armstrong as well as nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. John was predeceased by his father, William Murray MacPherson and his mother Ella Viola MacPherson (nee Kingyens). Friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of John's life on Monday September 15, 2008 at Springs Church, 595 Lagimodiere Boulevard, Winnipeg at 11:00 a.m., with viewing prior at 10:30 a.m. Funeral arrangements provided by Rock Fontaine (204)-223-2576 or toll free (866)-499-2601.
