Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN MCELREA (nee SMITH) Peacefully, on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, Jean passed away at Oakview Place, at the age of 80 years. Jean is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, Ken, brother, Bill (Norma), as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by parents Gordon and Elsie Smith and brothers, Gordon and George, as well a brother in infancy. Jean was born on July 2, 1928 in Dauphin, Manitoba, where she was educated and worked at W.G. White, ladies wear. At the age of 19 Jean moved to Winnipeg where she was employed with Dussoys, as well as at Canada Safeway for many years, which included several positions as head cashier. Jean enjoyed travelling with Ken and cherished the many summers spent at their Victoria Beach cottage. Jean was a long time member of Sturgeon Creek United Church. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 16, at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue (entrance on Aubrey Street) at 1:00 p.m. Thank you to the staff at Oakview Place for their care and compassion.
