Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWIN JOHN (JACK) HILL Suddenly at 4:33 a.m. on September 12, 2008 in his 79th year we said goodbye to our beloved Jack, dad, grandpa. Jack was born November 24, 1929 in Stony Mountain. He is loved and remembered by his wife of 43 years Myrna, sister Lottie Heaps of Alberta and children Jon (Bev), Ila, Tom, Stacy (Scott) and Sue (Daryl). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Jeff, Tim, Amber, Sasha, Rose and Vera-Sue. Jack started his career at the old Winnipeg General in 1947 in Laundry. During this time he was a founding member of CUPE and served on the executive. Thirty-three years later he left Health Sciences as Stores Manager to join the Vic as Manager of Materials Handling. After 15 years of service Jack retired in 1995. Hunting, fishing and family camping were only a few things Jack enjoyed. His boating skills were put to the test on a fishing trip with his eldest son, Jon, and brother-in-law Clifford (predeceased). Jack most enjoyed their family winter vacations in Mazatlan. Jack's passion was his family regardless of their choices. Although he was not a public speaker, Jack is well known for giving emotional eulogies for his family and friends. Jack's off-beat sense of humour and colourful stories will be missed by everyone. A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held at the Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave., Winnipeg on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Jack to the Children's Wish Foundation .
