Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELMUT KURT KOTTKE Helmut Kurt Kottke, beloved Husband, Father, Opa and Grand-Opa passed away September 10, 2008 at Concordia Hospital, at the age of 92. Survived by wife Elisabeth, daughters Barbara, Margret (Brian) and cherished grandkids Kevin (Tanya), Lisa (Dan), Kim (Kyle), Michelle (Scott), Wendy, Karen (Kevin) and great-grandkids Amelia, Cora, Sam, Aliya, Mike and Matt, many caring friends, and family in Germany. Dad immigrated to Winnipeg in the fall of 1952 from Germany with his family joining him the following spring. Dad, a baker by trade, loved working with wood, becoming a carpenter in his pre-retirement years. Dad and Mom lived in St.Vital, retiring to Kenora in 1982 to the cottage he lovingly built for his family by the Winnipeg River. He and Mom loved travelling, visiting Margie and Brian and vacationing in Cuba, Germany and Mexico. He loved fishing, hunting, boating, skiing, building and time with his family. Dad's wish was cremation. A celebration of his life will be held at the Wheeler Funeral Chapel (224-1525) 211 Regent Avenue W, 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2008. In Dad's memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society no flowers please.
