FELICE AURITI It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Felice Auriti, devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, loyal brother, favourite uncle and best friend who passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Surrounded by family he fought to stay by their side right to the end. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years, Teresa and children, Domenico (Gail), Anna Maria (Richard Brezden), Marcello (Pina); grandchildren, Adrian, Mariah, Justin, Julian, Sofia and Angelina. He also leaves to mourn his brother Mario (Maria) and sister Concettina (Domenico) of Italy, brother-in-law Francisco (Alicia) Consiglio and Luciana Taronno, also numerous nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Dino Taronno; cousins, Vicenzo Auriti and Nicola Auriti. Felice was born in Guardiagrele, Italy on November 30, 1930. He left at the age of 24 to Montevideo, Uruguay where he met and later married Teresa. In 1959 they had their first son, Domenico. A year later they immigrated to Winnipeg to join his brother Mario, where Anna Maria and Marcello were later born. Papa worked hard all his life and was employed with Baert Construction and VK Mason prior to retiring with CP Rail in 1995. Papa adored his grandchildren and cherished spending time with family and friends and often livened up family parties with his beautiful singing while enjoying his home-made wine. In his final years, listening to opera was one of his greatest joys along with sharing good food and wine with his family. We know that in heaven, he is on his bicycle to visit friends and family that have gone before him. The positive impact Papa had on those who knew him over the three continents will be his legacy. We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ross and his assistant Ruth at the Kildonan Medical Centre and to the health care aids and nurses of SOGH Unit 5, in particular Lisa, Michelle and Jamie who treated papa with respect and dignity. We would also like to thank McPhillips Safeway Pharmacy, in particular Willson and Kathy who were so helpful in dispensing papa's many medications. Last but not least, we would also like to thank Sandy and the home care workers that assisted papa on a daily basis, with a special thank you to Stani who helped make papa's days a bit brighter. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Viewing will take place at 12:00 p.m., also in the church.
