RALPH HRYCYNA Ralph passed away on September 9, 2008 at the age of 78 years in Penticton, BC. He is sadly missed, remembered and treasured by his wife, Evelyn; daughter, Jacqueline (Barry); son, Bruce; sister, Marian; numerous nephews and nieces as well as his step-mother, Helen; sisters, Frances (Owen), Isabelle (Emery); and brothers, Brian and James. He is predeceased by four brothers and four sisters. Ralph's parents were Ukrainian pioneers who settled near the shores of Lake Winnipeg in Sandy Hook, Manitoba. His was a large family of ten children. Ralph was employed by the Government of Canada at the Air Force Base in Gimli, Manitoba for 20 years after which he transferred to Esquimalt, BC, where he was a manager of Plumbing and Heating until his retirement in 1987. At that time he and Evelyn moved to Penticton. He was a quiet, gentle, honourable man who loved his family, home, nature and garden. In later years, he was rarely seen without his hat, driving around town taking care of business and keeping up to date with what was going on in his community.
