ALLAN T. DOUGLAS It is with deep sadness and joy, that we announce the passing of Allan T. Douglas, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. With his family at his side, Allan passed away peacefully on September 15, 2008 in the late afternoon at Kildonan Personal Care Home. He was 73 years old. Allan will be forever missed by the love of his life and devoted wife Ruth (nee Knight) of 52 years; daughter Karen and husband Jerry Wake (grandsons Anthony and Sean); son Randy and wife Sandy (grandsons Lukas, Thomas, Nathan, Carson); son Bradley and wife Connie (grandson David); also sisters Eleanor Young and Shirley Morrison; brother Glen Douglas; nieces and nephews. Allan was predeceased by two sisters Bernice and Doreen. Our dad was a very talented and skilled man that worked hard and spent his entire working career manufacturing 911' telecommunication systems for AEI Telecommunications. Dad always loved the outdoors. In the early years, our dad was the first person on the street to build his own pull-out, pop-up trailer that started the camping career at Falcon Lake, which led to the cottage he built with the help of his family at Echo Bay. His love for the outdoors and the lake-life has forever impacted and been passed down to all his children and grandchildren. Dad's life was not an easy one. He became very ill in 1971 and since then has added many more health issues up until his death. As a family we would like to express our many thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and home care workers that helped out with our dad over the years. During these difficult years our dad never complained about his illness. His patience and peacefulness was an example to all of us. Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street on Friday, September 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, R3L 0K6. Your earthly suffering body is no more. Enjoy your new eternal life free from pain, God Bless.
