DOROTHY JEAN ANDRES The family of Dorothy Jean Andres announce with sadness the passing of a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. With her family by her side, Dorothy passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre on September 16, 2008. Dorothy, who was predeceased by her husband Art in 2005 is lovingly remembered by her family: Lynn (Don) Harv (Sue), Cam (Judy) grandchildren, Jill, Todd (Loni) Kelly and Brennan, great-grandchildren, Courtney, Ben and Lauren and sister Margaret and sister-in-law, Enid. Dorothy was born in Portage la Prairie on April 6, 1919. She spent her early years in the Bagot area. In 1942 she married Art Andres and together they lived in various airforce bases across Canada. Upon Art's retirement they settled in Brandon where they lived until Art's passing in 2005. Dorothy then moved to Sturgeon Creek Retirement Residence in Winnipeg where she enjoyed the past 3 ½ years participating in all that it had to offer. Dorothy will always be remembered for her positive outlook and continuous optimism. She saw the good in everything and everyone. Thank you to Home Care and the Palliative Care team for their wonderful care and support. A special thank you to Marsha and the staff and residents at Sturgeon Creek Retirement Support for their friendship and support. Thank you to the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their care and compassion shown to Dorothy and her family during Dorothy's last days. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.
