RONALD LAWRENCE WESTFALL April 1, 1936 - September 16, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a husband, father and grandpa, Ronald Lawrence Westfall, aged 72 years, on September 16, 2008 at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB with his loving family by his side. Ron is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife Geraldine; his children, Rick (Cindy), Mildred (Don), Clifford (Shirley), Stanley (Judy), Pat (Deryl); his grandchildren, Dawn-Leigh, Justin, Clayton, Veronica, Wade, Darrell, Cole, Kay; along with his 10 great-grand-children; sister Joyce (Harvey); brother Harold (Fern); mother-in-law Margaret Kufus; and his brother-in-law Lenny Kufus; as well as many nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his parents Albert and Kay, father-in-law William and a brother Wesley. Ron was born April 1, 1936 and grew up on the family farm in Ashern. During school Ron would assist the teacher in the classroom. After he completed school, he took up farming for a while. Ron's working days were mostly done in the trucking industry, he also worked various other jobs. In 1956, Ron and Geraldine were married and carried on living in Ashern on the farm. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing and loved having coffee with his coffee buddies. A celebration of Ron's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Ashern Gospel Chapel with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's memory may be made to Lakeshore Hospital Guild, in care of Julie Bergner, Box 721, Ashern, MB R0C 0E0 (for use in the Palliative Care Unit).
