BARBARA JEAN HANSON (nee MASON) After a lengthy battle with cancer, Barbara Jean Hanson passed away on September 17, 2008 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Mom will be lovingly remembered by children; Andrew (Nancy), Douglas (Gale), Richard (Catherine), Timothy and Gregory (Cynthia), grandchildren; Garth (Sandra), Emily, Jay, Tamara (Jamie), Kara (Steve), Krista (Geoff), Sherri, Sean (Ashley), John, Jordan, 14 great-grandchildren, brother Dwight (Cheryl), sister-in-law Carol, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara has finally joined her beloved husband Harvey who was the light of her life. Barbara was born and raised in Winnipeg on March 13, 1926. She and Harvey were married September 11, 1948 moving to British Columbia, Thunder Bay, Ontario, finally settling in Winnipeg. Mom was ahead of her time being an organic gardener fifty years ago, an avid walker and a long-time member of her choir. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's Road with Rev. Russell Wardell officiating. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the St. Boniface Hospital, as well as the 6th floor family medicine for their care and support.
