EDWARD MATTHEW YORSKI After a lengthy battle with cancer, and with family by his side, Edward passed away on Friday, September 12, 2008 at the age of 74 years. He is survived by his wife, Catherine, of 50 years and his six children: Matthew (Monica) of Prince Rupert; Mary Anne (Paul) of Edmonton; Edward (Cindy); Elizabeth (Costa) of Montreal; Michael (Michelle) and Elliott (Amber) of Winnipeg. He will be missed by his 25 grandchildren: Anna, Gisele, Rachel, Nathan, Nicholas, Benjamin, Anne-Marie, Natanielle, Alexandria, Olivia, Victoria, Miguel, Ian, Andrew, Natasha, Alexander, Helen, Sofia, John, Steven, Diana, Arianna, Alia, Dylan and Evan. He is also survived by his sisters Jean (Peter) Krynowski, Alby (Peter) Bashansci, Leona Colborne, and many nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Yorski and his sister Nellie (Mike) Osika. Sir Knight Edward of council 4107 was a 4th degree member of assembly 1937 Knights of Columbus. He had many friends who shared his passion for golf and curling. He loved to watch golf, baseball and football, and enjoyed the many discussions about the games with his children and grandchildren. Prayers and eulogy will be said on Friday, September 19 at 6:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 20 at 10:00 a.m. by Fr. Sebastian Gacki at St. Andrew Bobola Catholic Church, 541 Marion Street. The interment will follow in Stonewall Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ian and Andrew Yorski, Walter Novicki, Alfred Lalonde, Martin Marci and Eugene Osika. The family especially likes to thank Cindy Yorski for her constant devotion to both Ed and Caye, Dr. D. Johnson and the Palliative Care Unit of St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion.
